So another month, another Apple keynote.
What should we expect this time? Well, looking at the rumours swarming around, it seems there will finally be some changes to the look of Apple’s already wonderful hardware. Many are expecting a new MacBook Pro, and seeing as it was brought out in January on Intel [despite having an almost identical shell to the old Powerbook] we could well be seeing this soon.
The iMac could also be in for a change in design, but more notably, a 23 inch model sounds as though it is in the works. To be honest, if the iMac design were to stay the same, I would quite like to see the addition of a black model. If you look at the current Apple hardware line up: black or white MacBooks, black or white iPod [nano]s, surely a black or white iMac shortly?
Will we finally see the long awaited iPod with touch screen click wheel? Only time will tell, but one source in China has seen large numbers of large trucks leaving one of the huge Apple factories where iPods are made. Who knows? Steve might have a clue on that one.
On the software side of things, there isn’t much rumoured from Apple, other than a new Final Cut Studio, but that is more likely at the NAB event later this year.
On the other hand, we might see some previews of more Universal Applications. Of note, Adobe are rumoured to be showing a demo of some apps. Hopefully we might see some of CS3’s new features, but the previews will more likely be “it’s quick, real quick”.
So, that’s a round of what we might be seeing next week.
Rumours. That’s all they are.
