James Gill was on Bloomberg’s The Pulse again this morning with Francine Lacqua and Guy Johnson to give his views on the future of payments on the web. James talks about the opportunities and risks for Facebook and Apple who are considering launching payments products and startups like Stripe and Square who are already innovating in this space.
James also shared some insights GoSquared has seen on which social channels convert to sales and why social networks are an increasingly dominant force in driving online commerce.
In terms of the social platforms and how they compare, interestingly platforms like Instagram are converting well but also lead to much higher average order values… where as on Facebook, it’s the power of social connections that are really driving purchases.
